The Impact of Transportation on the Croatian Economy: The Input–Output Approach

The aim of this paper was to determine the economic impact transportation sector on Croatian economy by using input–output analysis. According tables for 2004, 2010, 2013, and 2015, output gross value-added multipliers were calculated. results conducted analysis indicated that multiplicative effects in Croatia significant observed period, especially air transport sector. Furthermore, comparative multiplier with selected European Union countries performed assess industry position from an international perspective. Lower imply old member states capitalized more growth development. recorded lower imported intermediate inputs, average domestic higher similar new members. Simulations based show restrictions movements human contacts, imposed due COVID-19 pandemic, could induce a strong reduction activity other sectors are included chain industry.
